Bangkok, Thailand

Our Favorite Thai dishes include:

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Chiang Mai is a city in Northern Thailand that has quickly become a popular destination for food lovers around the world. With its rich culinary heritage, diverse food culture, and abundance of fresh ingredients.

However you do need to visit Chiang Mai during the right part of the year. Visit in the hot season and you’ll be sweltering in the 36°F + heat and its also burning season, so you will find that the there is a of smoke in the air.

One of the main draws of Chiang Mai’s food scene is its street food. The city’s night markets, such as the famous Sunday Walking Street, offer a wide variety of delicious and affordable street food, including Northern Thai specialties like khao soi (a spicy coconut curry noodle soup) and sai ua (a spicy pork sausage).

Italy 

The whole country is chockablock with incredible regional delicacies and things to do! In fact, they have two entries in the list of UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy

One of our favorite cities is Rome, the many traditional restaurants and culinary hotspots make Rome a great food destination. 

This eternal city is a small heaven for food and wine lovers. 

However, Rome isn’t the only place to get incredible food!

We discovered sfogliatelle here in Rome, we have used this recipe here to recreate at home and it was perfect!

Modena, Italy 

Modena is home to many delicacies are all love. Balsamic vinegar, parmesan cheese and prosciutto ham.

We loved Modern and sampling all the food as well as visiting Bologna, it such a beautiful city!

Milan, Italy 

Or maybe your further North and want to explore Milan!

Known for being the fashion capital but what about the food?

We recommend the shakerato coffee! However the best gelato in town is from either Gelaterai Pagenelli or Terra Gelato

Athens, Greece

It doesn’t matter if your on a Greek island or amongst the markets in Athens, the food in Greece is INCREDIBLE!

Food and family iare top priority in Greece and we looved that! We even got to go to a traditional Sunday lunch with the family we were house sitting for!

Now we are home we have been trying to recreate as the dishes we loved!

Dublin, Ireland

Not only are they home of the tasty tatties and Guinness pie, Dublin has also been dubbed as one of the places beer lover must visit! You also have the Guinness factory but a little known secret is the Friday evenings there, you can try all the new recipes they are testing!

Seville, Spain

Spain isn’t just famous for its tapas and flamenco dancing!

They also produce some incredible wine and vermouth. If you head to Seville you need to try the vermouth!

You should try a walking tour which will introduce you to vermouth as well as some local tapas and flamenco shows!

Bejing, China

Marrakech, Morocco 

Moroccan cuisine is a blend of Arabic, Andalusia, French, and Mediterranean foods. 

This blend creates unique flavor combinations and yummy meals. 

Slow-cooked meats stew (tagine) is the most famous Moroccan food. 

Other top foods to eat in Marrakech are peppermint tea, crusty bread, and crumbled liver. 

If your in Morocco a wonderful way to support local women is by doing a cooking class with them.

Mexico City, Mexico 

They say local food eaten in Mexico is yummier and more flavourful. 

Especially when compared to Mexican food cooked elsewhere.

The farm-to-table dishes, unique food combinations, and fresh flavors make Mexican cuisine mouth-watering. 

Best Mexican foods to try include tacos, tostadas, burritos, birria tacos, tamales, and guacamole. 

Lyon, France 

With about 20 Michelin-starred restaurants, Lyon is considered the culinary capital of France. 

Lyonnaise cuisine consists of finger-licking dishes made with seasonal ingredients. 

Unique dishes from Lyon are: 

  • tablier de sapeur (beef tripe meal) 
  • salade Lyonnaise (bacon with egg, lettuce, and croutons)
