Love Nut Butter? Allergic to peanuts nuts? Your in bloody luck! Barneys Butter will be your jam, well nut butter to your jam 🙂
Barney Butter is an all natural almond butter made with Premium California Almonds. Barney Butter you will love to know is peanut free and made in an almond-only facility. Another great fact about this company it uses almonds that are non-GMO and it’s one of the only producers that have a peanut free facility #nutlove. Many of the other Almond butters will say they could contain a trace amount of peanuts…which helps because it limits your choice so much! It may also be of help to know that the product is vegan and gluten free.
You can’t quite see it, but there is a boat load of nut butter under the ricotta! Give this combo a go! It’s one of our favourites
It’s creamy and gooey- no grit like I have found in some nut butters. I noticed that it doesn’t separate (which is’nt a issue for me), its spreads like peanut butter and just melts nicely onto toast. The version “bare” has no added salt or sugar. Barney Butter Bare Almond Butter label mentions that it uses skinned, or blanched, almonds, however on a closer look it actually listed as roasted blanched almonds, which I find a little confusing. The label also mentions it requires no stirring, which makes me sceptical about what is added to achieve this effect.
A little pricey, £8 for a 280-gram jar, however, if it’s the only nut butter you can actually buy without ending up in the hospital, I think that it is well worth the money!
I’m pretty impressed with the dedication t a peanut free factory. However once again we are seeing palm fruit oil, other than that the ingredients look clean and more like the whole foods you should be fueling your body with.
Ingredients are listed on the company website as the following;
The nutrition facts are pretty much similar to any type of nut butter, 180 calories and 15 grams of fat per serving (a serving is 32g which is 2tsbps). I like that there is a hefty 3 grams of fibre and 6 grams of protein per serving, which is more than I have seen in a lot other nut butter you there.
It has a wonderful all-natural flavour; the texture is creamy smooth, and it mixes very easily with other products, e.g. honey, well it actually delicious on all of the different snacks!You can see above much we love putting it on toast. Anything such as figs, ricotta, blueberries, banana, mango pair so well with this nut butter
Just as described it a smooth and buttery, it nice to not have that feeling of it stuck to every part of your mouth, some nut butter you feel like a cat you decided to chew a whole ball of wool for about a half hour.
Make sure you grab Barney Butter, so you can make some delicious treats at home, like that Raspberry Jam and Almond Butter toasted sandwich below!
Once we have tried the bare blend of almond butter you need to give these two nut butters a try. Barney Almond Butter Espresso + Vanilla and Barney Almond Butter Honey + Flax. They are just another level of delicious! Both do a high rotation of shelf to gob therefore we find ourselves restocking these two mainly. Once we stop eating them we will put together a breakdown of each product for you.
